Autumn 2025 - Names of God, "I am" sayings of Jesus plus some special events
Starting in September, we have a short series considering some of the names given to God in the Old Testament before we move on to look at the "I am ..." statements of Jesus in John's Gospel.
There are 3 special services in September and October:
-
September 7th - "Back to School Sunday"
-
28th September - visit from Yeldall Manor staff and residents
-
5th October - our annual Harvest celebration when we will be joined by The Ark Preschool children, staff and families (plus the ever popular Gray's Farm tractor, of course!)
On 12th October we are very pleased to welcome Rev. Steve Finamore, the 2024-2025 President of the Baptist Union, as our guest preacher.
July & August - Moses, Man of God
Through 6 Sundays we are looked at some of the events in the life of Moses; an ordinary person called by God to do some extraordinary things. He was a key person in the history of God's people. Although Moses lived thousands of years ago, we can still learn new things from his story.
May to July - This is Living
This series took us through Paul's letter to the Philippians. It reminded us to keep focused on Jesus; who he is and all that he has done for us. It is a book full of encouragement - and challenge!
-
Sunday 1st June was our minister, Kevin's last Sunday with us before he moved to Shoreham Baptist Church. The service included a formal farewell.
-
Sunday 8th June was Pentecost Sunday, when we celebrated how the Holy Spirit was sent by God - "The Birthday of the Church"
-
Sunday 15th June was a special All-age service focusing on the work of TWAM (Tools With A Mission) to mark the end of Big Green Week. (This replaces the All-age service on the 5th Sunday.) Our monthly Communion service was moved to June 22nd.
Lent & Easter - The Road to the Cross
During Lent (5th March to 19th April) we looked at 4 key events in the life of Jesus, as recorded in Matthew's gospel. Two are at the start of Jesus' earthly ministry (his baptism in the Jordan followed by his temptation in the desert) and two are near the end, as he prepared to go to Jerusalem for the last time and face the cross on Good Friday. On Easter Sunday (20th April) we celebrated Jesus raised from the dead and the empty tomb.

February & March - Beyond broken – God’s new story
For four weeks in February and the beginning of March we looked at the book of the prophet Amos.
January & February - God in Control
To start the new year we are considering how God is faithful and is still in control, despite everything that is going on in the world and in our lives - He's still got the whole world in his hands.
