News and Events
CBC has been chosen by Southern Counties Baptist Association as Church of the Year for 2020!
The weekly news sheet is suspended whilst we are unable to meet together. Updates will appear on this page.
Please note that all our usual Sunday services and midweek meetings, plus our monthly service at St. Brendan's are cancelled until further notice due to the COVID-19 virus.
We are recording services each Sunday. Why not join us remotely from your home?
Builders back on site!
Great news that our builders have been back on site since Monday 11th May after the lockdown. We continue to pray that they will have all the resources they need to keep working on our New Heart building project, with social distancing requirements and Covid-safe practices in place.
Prayer Broadcasts by the Baptist Union
Started as a response to the Coronavirus Covid-19 situation, the BU started some prayer broadcasts. These will now take place every Wednesday and Sunday at 7pm. Join in the live prayer events or watch the recordings later.
Yeldall's stRIDE FOR RECOVERY : 6th - 13th June
Over the past three years, the Ride for Recovery has raised over £40,000 towards the Good Samaritan Bursary Fund at Yeldall Manor, helping many men to have the chance to address their drug or alcohol addictions. This year will be a little different! Click the picture to watch the video for more information.
Sue, Ian, Philip and Elaine are planning to take part in the event, so they hope that members and friends of CBC will sponsor them in aid of this worthy cause.
Please visit our JustGiving page to donate.
Church Meeting and AGM has been postponed from 25th March. No new date yet.

Open The Book Team
An intrepid gang of CBC members is going into Wildmoor Heath School Assembly once a month to present dramatized Bible stories. They are following the Bible Society's "Open The Book" scheme.
The photo shows them telling the story of Adam and Eve with a very alluring serpent on 24th February.
Sadly visits are suspended whilst schools are closed.
Many children in Africa can't go to school because they don't have the necessary equipment. Tools With A Mission send Scholar Packs, containing all the essentials to enable a child to attend school. Why not get a plastic wallet and fill it with the items required? Keep it till we can meet again.
CBC has supported Yeldall Manor, a Christian drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre, for many years. Their main building is a Grade II Listed property, most of which is 120 years old. Roof refurbishment has now become an urgent aspect of their maintenance programme. The first phase of the work will cost around £50,000 and the overall cost is likely to be around £250,000. They have launched a special appeal to raise money for the work. You can donate online via JustGiving or send a cheque (made out to Yeldall Manor) or put a cash or cheque donation in the special box at our Sunday morning service. Gift Aid forms are also available on Sundays.
